Its more of a funny coincidence than anything. My friend Mike recently told me about an old skate movie called SkaterDater that he said he used to watch in jr. high in the 70’s. He talked about how cool it would be to see it again. I went to task at finding it for him and bought a bootleg copy of the 17 minute mini drama about a skater falling for a girl from some guy online. I promptly copied it to my hard drive before gifting it. I gave it a viewing last night and realized the kids in it were pretty sick at skating for being filmed in 1965 (the date which I found out when I bought it). I also wondered how many people really knew about this video? how obscure is it?  Anyway this morning I opened up an email from Deluxe Dist. to find a t-shirt by Krooked called “SkaterDater” with a drawing of a Picasso-esque girl by Gonz. Looks like the movie is pretty well known, at least to some seasoned skaters like Mark. If by chance you are looking for a copy of Skaterdater- contact me.
